The Intimissimi mini silk dresses that suddenly made it out of the lingerie category are hot shit right now. Lace peeking out top and bottom, and moving away from synthetic materials, towards a more natural choice feels necessary.
But is wearing nighties out really a good choice? Yes. Yes it is, because you should wear whatever makes you feel like the best version of yourself. There is a couple of things I’d be mindful of though: too thin materials, wrinkles or an inappropriate length can make your fit look cheap. Trust me, I learned from my own mistakes – looking back on some of my fashion choices through the years is quite painful, but then I remember that it’s all just play and curiosity, and to me it only matters what I think. I iron my clothes for me. I pick quality materials for me. I choose how short or long my skirt is for me. I should feel good in my outfit, regardless of what other people say or think.
So to answer the question presented in the title of this post: both, depending on what you expect from an outfit, what message it sends and which details matter to you. Because Karen next door can present all sorts of gossip to her knitting club, they’re still spending their precious time (time they will never get back btw) talking about you instead of focusing on their own lives. Wear whatever you want and let people waste their most precious currency.
